With spring here you might be debating whether or not to start that outdoor garden or to fill your home with some green babies, but not everyone has a green thumb. Have you given up on plants because they just tend to wither in your care? You’ll be happy to know that there are plants that will stay alive with little maintenance – it’s rare that they will even die. So forget about your worries and bring some life into your home with these beautiful, easy to care for plants.
Succulents
Succulents have become quite a decor trend and their little maintenance is mainly the reason why. These plants require very little water, they grow indoors & outdoors with or without sun, and they are easy to propagate. Hens & chicks, cactus, and aloe vera are all types of succulents – there are over 100 varieties!
Devil’s Ivy
This glossy evergreen vine plant will flourish indoors with sun or shade in an array of soil types. The soil should be dried out before watering so you can expect to water a Devil Ivy’s plant only once a week.
Peace Lily
Peace Lilies are one of the most popular houseplants – not only are they easy to maintain, they actually purify the air you breathe by absorbing pollutants as their food. Peace Lilies are also pretty easy to understand as they will let you know when they need water or repotting by wilting or changing colour. Keep them away from direct sunlight, keep the soil moist, and keep repotting as they grow and your plant will keep on living!
Aspidistra
Also known as the cast iron plant, this species is extremely tough! The Aspidistra with its leathery leaves can tolerate various conditions both indoor and out. They tend to be pricey, but you can be sure they will stick around as long as they are treated with adequate care, which is minimal.
