Solara House in Long Jetty brings warm timber-tone cabinetry through the kitchen and adjoining living spaces. This Central Coast project shows how custom joinery can connect everyday storage with the character of the home.
A kitchen with warmth and curves
The kitchen pairs timber-tone doors and drawers with a richly patterned benchtop and splashback. A curved island provides seating, while overhead cupboards and a tall storage run frame the cooking and preparation areas. An arched opening connects the main kitchen to the pantry.
Storage behind the scenes
The pantry combines open shelves, drawers and appliance space. The gallery includes an open-drawer view so you can see how smaller items and everyday supplies are organised.
Joinery beyond the kitchen
Low living-room cabinetry and open shelving carry the warm finishes into a quieter seating area. The laundry combines overhead cupboards, a hanging rail, sink and stacked appliances. The alfresco cabinetry adds another practical preparation and storage area.
Kitchen & pantry materials and finishes
The kitchen and pantry production plans specify the following materials and finishes:
- Cabinetry: Polytec melamine in Florentine Walnut, with a Woodmatt finish.
- Floating shelves: 32 mm shelves in matching Polytec Florentine Walnut Woodmatt.
- Benchtops: 20 mm stone, with the colour selected by the client.
- Splashback: stone selected by the client.
- Feature handles: Lo & Co Karu pulls in aged brass, 350 mm, to the pocket doors and integrated fridge.
- Other handles: sharknose details and lip pulls to overhead cupboards.
- Lighting: strip lighting to overhead cabinets, floating shelves, bar shelves and the bottom shelf in the appliance cabinet.
